Initiative Programme ‘City Cat Life’

The initiative aims to implement Programme ‘Catch, Sterilize, Release’, an ownerless cat control programme used successfully elsewhere in the world. The neutered cats are taken back to their places of habitation after a few days. The ‘Catch, Sterilize, Release’ Programme helps prevent colonies of street cats from growing as no new kittens are born again and again.

City Cat Life: Safe Shelter

Project ‘City Cat Life: Safe Shelter’ supported by the Teterev Foundation provides for the installation of cat houses in several places in Riga where colonies of street cats, sterilised under a joint initiative by the Riga City Council and Society ‘DzivniekuSOS’, reside. Project  ‘City Cat Life: Safe Shelter’ is intended as a continuation of the sterilisation programme run for several years now.
